Today, every musician is in the position to produce music with high performance software and hardware tools themselves. The problem that arises in this high tech production is, that the musicians’ interaction with each other is reduced and is too brief. This is the point that digitalmusician.net set out to rectify. Digitalmusician.net makes it possible for musicians, producers, music teachers, DJs, and tone studios to come together with the help of the Internet and to create a network to make music in real-time together without bounds.

Digitalmusician.net is made possible by a specially developed recording software solution (DMC) that is used individually at the disposal of the user. Audio and MIDI data can be sent, received, and noted through this software. The portal provides chat function, forums, and a messaging system for direct and simple communication. Musicians are able to provide their own profile as well as a demo song with photos on the homepage. Tone studios and professional musicians can offer their services and musical knowledge over their studio homepages worldwide.

Our task was to provide digitalmusician.net with a new graphic and conceptual level of appearance, in order to make the site fresher and more up to date. In addition to a completely updated graphic appearance and technical innovations, digitalmusician.net is based on Open Source Content Management System Drupal, which simplifies independent client content management, administration, and presentation.

Karl Steinberg and Manfred Ruerup, who made the Steinberg Company the worldwide-recognized leader in Music Software, are behind this project.
